Griselinia littoralis Green Horizon
Griselinia littoralis originates from New Zealand. Mainly grown as coastal hedging in the Southwest of England, but I have known one to grow into a large specimen tree in one of the parks in Falmouth. They are quick growing and a favourite with amateur gardeners for urban hedging. But be advised, they do not suit a rural setting. Griselinia trims well to make a formal hedge, but will easily make 5m plus if left unattended. For formal hedging- guide spacing; 10 plants in a single row will cover approximately 4m. The form I have selected is Green Horizon which is darker in colour than the straight species, and is easier on the eye
Grown as: Container stock
Hardiness: Hardy; Southwest coast & salt hardy
Use: Coastal hedging /windbreak
Sizes available: 9cm pot pack of 10, 3 Litre or 5 Litre
