Apple tree: Breadfruit - (Malus domestica)
A Cornish heritage apple variety, originating from a single tree back in the Tamar Valley in 1900. Vigorous and spreading in habit, with medium sized fruit. Colour initially green with a brown to red flush and faint broken stripes. Producing its own waxy shine which helps preserve the fruit upon harvesting. Classified as a second early with regard harvesting. A distinctive memorable slight strawberry taste, well received when sampled on tours of the Forest Garden
