Herbaceous perennial. Strong growing, roots may need controlling in the smaller garden. Young leaves in spring can be added to the forest garden salad bowl, giving your salad a spicy lift, best finely diced in modest quantities. Established plants can be treated as cut and come again for some time into the season. Grown under cover leaf harvesting can commence in March/ April and continue to November. Roots are also used for traditional Horseradish source. For herbal self help treatment fresh cut root vapour is often inhaled to help unblock nasal congestion.
Can be grown in a large pot providing it’s repotted each year.
